In 2002, our credit union established the NLCU Charitable Foundation Corporation (the “Foundation”), an arms-length charity that we continue to support today. The Foundation’s vision is to be a visible leader in support of registered charities primarily in Newfoundland and Labrador that work to improve social programs and services in the areas of youth, education, health, arts, culture, and the environment.

Since its inception, the Foundation has donated over $1 million to charities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Our employees and board of directors are its core supporters, raising funds that are subsequently distributed to local charities, many of which offer services that may not otherwise be made available within our communities.
