NLCU Scholarship Program

Call for Applications

NLCU is now accepting applications from graduating high school students in Newfoundland and Labrador for the NLCU Scholarship Program.

The NLCU Scholarship Program recognizes the contributions of Newfoundland and Labrador’s community builders of tomorrow, celebrating those who embody the qualities of good citizenship and co-operation. There are two scholarships available: The Michael W. Boland Outstanding School and Community Involvement Scholarship and the Owen Grimes Memorial Scholarship. Awarded annually, these scholarships are valued at $3,000 each.

Eligibility

  • Be a member of NLCU or the child of an NLCU member;
  • Be a graduate of a Newfoundland and Labrador high school during the spring or fall of the current academic year;
  • Be nominated by your high school principal on behalf of your school, and;
  • Be enrolled to an accredited post-secondary institution or college.*

To apply for either scholarship, click here to download the application. Completed applications and supporting documentation must be postmarked no later than September 15, 2025.

Scholarship winners will be announced in late autumn/early winter.
