Interac eTransfer

Just like sending cash — only now from online or mobile banking. Interac eTransfers are a simple, convenient, and secure way to send and receive money directly from one bank account to another. All you need is access to online or mobile banking through a participating financial institution, and you can send money to anyone with an email address or mobile phone number and a bank account in Canada — without sharing any personal or financial information. It's a great alternative to cheques and cash. Instructions on how to perform Interac eTransfers are provided in Online Banking. 

  • Members can use Interac e-Transfers to send up to $3,000 per transaction
    (limits are: $3,000 per day, $10,000 per week and $20,000 per month)
  • Members can receive Interac e-Transfers up to $10,000 per transaction
    (limits are: $10,000 per day, $25,000 per week and $50,000 per month)

Autodeposit and Request Money for Interac

These new features have been implemented everywhere that offers the e-Transfer service to make it easier to transfer funds.

Autodeposit Feature

Autodeposit is a feature within the Interac e-Transfer service where you can register your email address(es) to have funds deposited directly into your account, without having to answer a security question. The sender is made aware before initiating a transfer that the recipient is registered for Autodeposit.

Request Money Feature

Request Money is a feature within the Interac e-Transfer service where money can be requested from anyone in Canada within the security of your online banking or mobile banking application. Money can be requested using email or text messaging. When your request is fulfilled, you will receive notification once the funds are available in your account.

For Business members using MemberDirect Business:

All enhanced user features are supported for MemberDirect Business, however, similar to the send or receive money features, delegates or signers are allowed to perform certain activities without approval, and in other cases additional approval will be required.

The Autodeposit registration and initiating a Request Money can be done by one approver,  however, it does take two approvers to review and fulfill a request.
